Volunteering . . .

There are many ways to be a part of the incredible work done every day at HEART Foundation. We have a big goal- to provide troubled or high-risk young people and their families, with programs of prevention and early intervention enabling them to choose a new direction and become responsible community members.

Achieving this large and meaningful goal takes support, and lots of it, from a wide range of individuals, families, corporations and colleague agencies who are compassionate and dedicated, to providing the best possible future for our young people. A first basketball game, a heart-to-heart talk or a milk-through-the-nose laugh might not seem Earth-shattering, but the power of that moment can be life-altering and truly the beginning of something Exceptional.

Volunteer Opportunities

We are in need of committed and supportive mentors in the following programs:

Be a Birthday Hero
Birthday Heroes brighten children's lives by engaging regularly in fun activities with them and celebrating their special day with plenty of goodies like cake, soft drinks, gifts and games. Birthday Heroes are groups of two or more coworkers, friends, youth or religious group participants who commit to monthly or semimonthly volunteer activities and celebrating children's birthdays. To become a Birthday Hero all you need to do is commit to visiting a child twice a month and celebrating their special day with them at a HEART Foundation sponsored event.

Be an Education Hero
Education Heroes help to broaden a young person’s life by engaging them in events that help to stimulate their educational possibilities. We are looking for college students, organizations, fraternities and sororities to commit to encouraging young people to pursue higher education. This program encourages high school success and supports students with workshops on college preparation, educational fieldtrips and mentoring relationships.

Be a Holiday Hero
Holiday Heroes fill a child's wish list by shopping for and wrapping gifts for a child or by making a donation of $25 to the HEART Foundation Holiday Heroes program. Wish lists will be provided.
